Green RTF

Carbon Neutrality is a popular phrase in many business communities, but far too few companies actually embrace the necessary changes in order to achieve this. RTF offer the "Greenest Minutes in the UK" through our main provider Gamma Telecom. A first in the UK telecoms market, as from 1st January 2009 all minutes carried across the Gamma Telecom network are Carbon Neutral, helping businesses, residential customers and public and voluntary sectors reduce their carbon footprint. Here are some of the initiatives that have helped to reduce the carbon footprint:
  • Annual power consumption is down 150,000Kw in 2007 due to continued investment in soft switching (soft switching has enabled a move from a power-hungry hardware infrastructure to software driven environment which uses far less power).
  • Our electronic invoicing policy means that we now produce over 40% less paper bills. Instead customers receive their bills by email and access itemisation online via our web-billing. This saves over 5000 printed pages a month.
  • Substantial use of audio conferencing (go through to product conferencing) facilities with our affiliates and suppliers, significantly reducing our travel time.
  • All inbound faxes are received into the business via our Fax 2 Email services, reducing paper consumption and other consumables.
  • Recycling schemes for paper and plastics.

From The Times (October 29, 2005) "We're on verge of the paperless world", says Gates

Well you can't get everything right Mr Gates but RTF are trying to have as little environmental impact as possible. We operate a strict recycling policy that is adhered to by all of our staff.

RTF are passionate about improving our Carbon Footprint and we would like to help likeminded businesses do the same.  By implementing telephone conference facilities and Fax to Email services within your business is a great way to start.

Don’t get left behind, start today with a fresh approach to the environment!
